The three special projects I am including highlight a wide range of skills and abilities developed through my course of study and personal and professional pursuits. My entire professional career has been spent in public service of one form or another and my work is reflective of this commitment. I believe all three projects demonstrate my ability to think deeply about issues, participate in the peer-review process, and express myself successfully using a variety of formats.
I chose the website I developed for ILS501 & ILS503 designed to improve library services for the underserved because I believe that this specific population deserves and needs advocates to speak for them; to inform and address misconceptions, reduce stigma, and to work to bridge the gap in services. I chose the Rumsey Hall Memory Project because it reflects not only my passion for preservation of cultural heritage materials, it also demonstrates my ability to conceptualize an idea and carry it through to a professional finished project. Plus, I love to explore time period images, documents, and ephemera and want to share that with others.
